Gareth Parry RCA
Gareth Parry's paintings deal both with landscapes and the people of Wales. The landscapes are more concerned with the effects of light, weather, season and so on, than with the depiction of place. The people paintings are based on observation and listening to snippets of conversation, or are in some cases reflections of his thoughts on living in a changing Wales. Gareth's work was acknowledged by the late Sir Kyffin Williams - as being '' My type of paintings''. His paintings are also exhibited at the Thackeray Gallery in London - the gallery which represented the late Sir Kyffin Williams. In early October, 2009, Parry achieved a near sell-out on the opening preview evening of his first ever solo exhibition at The Thackeray Gallery, an exhibition of 24 seascapes which subequently sold-out. He has had a second major exhibition at the National Library of Wales and a number of his paintings are now in the National Collection. Firmly established as one of Wales's foremost painters, Gareth's paintings are increasingly sought-after and have achieved an extremely strong following among our collectors.
