'If there is a process or format that applies to my work, I would have to say it’s achieving a balance between maximum expression and minimum detail. I particularly admire work created quickly and simply yet demonstrating a wealth of expression and emotion. I try to incorporate into each piece components of energy, emotion and movement. The work evolves quite chaotically, but usually stems from an original concept or idea. A full understanding of each piece can become apparent at different stages. I like to discuss my work with others, often gaining a deeper insight and a variety of alternative, conceptual opinions. The ceramic process excites and amazes me and feels like a form of magic or alchemy (spirit, air, earth, fire and water). At present, I find it the most expressive and satisfying method for me to create both form and meaning.'
